HikerBath scrive: “Really nice hotel, great location in a bWe stayed here for a week in July. The temperature was really warm 24 - 27C. The hotel value for money is very good compared with others that are only slightly better located, we found that the lack of air con was the only real downside- our room, which had a wonderful balcony at the front of the hotel, was very close to a noisy bar and the necessity to have the windows open meant that you could hear people on their way home from this lively town so earplugs were very handy!! The rooms at the rear of the hotel would be far quieter but you would miss all the on street action! This wouldn't put us off going back to the same hotel at all - the service was great, a really good choice of continental style breakfast with extra bacon and eggs type available at a charge. The maids were brilliant and the rooms were always spotless. Lovely new and clean bathroom
Also car parking is free round the back of the hotel with a handy rear hotel access to it (make sure you state this requirement when booking!) which makes a huge difference to cost - on street parking is not cheap
Reception were extremely helpful throughout with loads of good advice (Venice is only 2 hours away by car if you want to visit, and we were given excellent advice as to where to park, how to get there most effectively etc etc.)
We spent a lot of time up in the mountains in the cooler air - the refugios are great places for lunch and you can get to some really good ones by cable car. It's worth visiting these - not only really handy for food, drink, loo, rest etc, but really well spaced for a good walk from one to the next - and you can walk up, down, or both as many are serviced by cable car.

Convenient city center location and one street down (so to speak) from the autostazione. Supermercado very close. No car necessary. Roberta & Michele are wonderful, hospitable & engaging people. I plan to visit Cortina again and will definitely stay here. Large toilette with full bath. Friendly, friendly staff. Charming hotel. Still has circa 1950s flavor but has been upgraded with modern amenities. WIFI throughout. Drawbacks = no restaurant; Cristallo nightclub across the street can get noisy until 2am.

nycgoodguy scrive: WONDERFUL Owners Will Make Your Stay a Joy!!!!!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed staying at this hotel! I have rated them with 5 dots ("Excellent"). There are, however, a few caveats.
First, the good stuff:
1. The owners. The owners of this hotel are WONDERFUL! Roberta and the others are extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. Their welcoming and always cheery demeanor will more than make up for any short-comings that this hotel may have. In fact, I would choose them over a higher-end, ultra-luxury hotel. Not only do they care about your stay at their hotel, they genuinely want you to enjoy and experience all of Cortina d'Ampezzo to its fullest. They are always ready with excellent recommendations for restaurants, shopping & sight-seeing, etc. They are also a good source for suggestions on where to go skiing for the day based on a combination of your level of skiing, the type of skiing you want to do, and the current weather forecast. Speaking of skiing: if you want an instructor or guide, they will arrange one for you. (Here's a big shout-out to Cristina Bondi -- the BEST instructor/guide in Dolomiti Superski!).
2. Cleanliness. My room and bathroom were very clean and the house keepers kept it that way through-out my week-long stay.
3. The location. This hotel is very centrally located (see also not-so-good stuff). It is convenient to any number of restaurants, bars & shopping. The cable car to Faloria as well as the bus station for the various ski buses is a very short walk from the hotel.
4. The breakfast. They have a great breakfast spread -- lots of baked goods, cereals, sliced cheeses & meats, coffee/cappuccino, teas & juices.
5. The bar. The hotel has a charming little bar off the lobby. It is definitely NOT a nightlife hot spot; instead, it is a nice quiet place to meet up with friends and grab a quick drink before heading out to dinner.
6. The spa area. The have a nice spa area. There is a sauna, hot tub (see also not-so-good stuff), showers & changing rooms, and lounge area. If you are traveling with friends, this is a nice space for relaxing after a day of skiing.
The not-so-good stuff:
1. Location/noise. While the central location of this hotel makes it extremely convenient to bars, restaurants, shopping & skiing (you can easily walk to the cable car that takes up up to Faloria), it is also a noisy location. Other reviews have commented on the noise issue as well. I am a moderate-to-heavy sleeper; so, I was able to sleep through it, but some other members of my group had difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep. I think some rooms may have been more noise-prone than others (My room was directly over the main entrance). One night, the screaming & yelling of people in the street was shockingly loud -- especially for a mid-week night (and Europeans think Americans are loud! heh-heh-heh-heh). Unfortunately, this is something over which the hotel has no real control.
2. Room size. Though the rooms are very clean and neat, many of them are quite small by U.S. standards. Even so, they still retain a quaint charm. The bathroom was also very small by U.S. standards. However, it was very clean and that's what counts!
3. Hot tub. As nice as the spa area was. We all jokingly referred to the hot tub as the "tepid tub." It was barely lukewarm.
I would highly recommend this hotel to almost anyone. Unfortunately, if you are a very light sleeper, you might want to consider a different hotel.

rkmalpine he/she writes: This is the second time we have stayed for an extended visit at the Hotel Olimpia. We stayed there in 2004 for over two weeks and when we returned in 2008 for 16 days we didn\'t even consider looking anywhere else - our experience was that good.
I had originally booked a room online from the U.S. and when we arrived in Cortina at that hotel it was badly misrepresented and we checked out and looked around in Cortina and found the Hotel Olimpia and now it is the only place I will ever stay in future visits to Cortina.
English speaking staff (staff could speak several languages), rooms are extremely clean. I travel for business and spend half my life in hotels. So, I know a clean room when I see it. The location could not be better. It is in the center of town. Parking is an issue in Cortina and the Olimpia has its own gated parking lot in the back with your own remote. So, it\'s very convenient. Outstanding fresh breakfasts are included with your stay. Internet area with very reasonable rates. They will do your laundry. The will do your laundry and it will be in your room later on. Sauna and whirlpool. Up-to-date weather forcasts for specific regions. Arranged for offsite massage. Very knowledgeable about any questions you can think of and generous with information.
In conclusion; I have recommended this to several friends who have stayed there and they all thanked me and had a great experience. The staff and owners could not be any better, in my opinion. RK Miller, Alpine, Utah US

droulis he/she writes: What we are expecting from a hotel during our ski trips is a clean, warm, cosy place with helpful staff. This is exactly what we found in hotel Olimpia. Each and every person from the staff was extremely helpful and answered to every single question we had -and we had lots of them. Many thanks to Mikele for explaining everything, proposing things to do and places to go, discussing about our countries. All the other people working at the reception were also very polite, friendly and helpful, as well as the lady at breakfast.
Now that I mentioned breakfast, hotel Olimpia has the best croissants we have ever tasted! Better than those in Paris!

LucyClaude he/she writes: Helpful friendly staff in a 3 star hotel. We caught the end of the ski-ing season so the town was emptying out. The staff were helpful and friendly without being intrusive. BA lost one of our suitcases and the staff did everything they could to contact them on our behalf. The rooms are old fashioned italian/tyrolean decor, so not minimalistic modern, but we didn\'t mind. We travelled without our children, but noted that the service was child friendly. Breakfast only.

jhon keny he/she writes: Cortina is always a fairytale staying at Olimpia! I have been many times to Cortina and i\'m happy to stay by Olimpia everytime i come here. All what you desire you\'ll get in this nice hotel: quiet clean rooms on my oppinion is much more then 3*; Polite and friendly personel will always assist you in any desire you have. it\'s always nice to ask for an advise about restaurant and you will always get a place in the best restaurants of cortina and such marvelouse places as Malga Federa for romantic dinner with candellight. After long skiing day you can relax in the hotel at sauna with jacuzzi and after go for a walk around the center not driving long as you go out of the Olimpia and you\'re in the center of the life: shops, bars, cafes and restaurants - every place you want to go you reach in 3-5minutes. My advise to everybody is to stay not in a hotel but with friands in Olimpia.
